BGCBN Youth of the Year

The Boys & Girls Club of Bloomington-Normal is searching for their 2022 Youth of the Year. This person will be an ambassador for our Club this year. In addition, if they are selected, they will be able to complete in other BGCA Youth of the Year competition at the state, regional and national level, where scholarship awards can be upwards of $25,000.

 

Your child must be either a junior or senior enrolled in a local high school, in good standing with the school and the Club and willing to work hard to benefit themselves.

 

There is a lot of work involved on behalf of the member to be successful, including an extensive application, which includes recommendation letters, three essays to write and prepare for a speech to be delivered in front of judges. Therefor we will be preparing the youth interested on Mondays from 5pm – 6:30pm at Teen CLUB from January 10 – 28, 2022 . Hours Monday – Thursday between 2:45pm – 6:30pm may be available to assist members with their individual application requirements. The timeline is outlined below:

First Essay (YOY Essay #3) – Due January 28, 2022

BGCBN YOY – February 4, judges will determine the Club winner

For BGCBN Youth of the Year Winner:

Application Submitted to BGCBN by March 5, 2022

Application Submitted to BGCA March 8, 2022

Virtual Judging April 7, 2022

Event Date April 11 & 12, 2022

Midwest – May 31 and June 30, 2022
